WHAT IS CHIROPRACTIC?
Chiropractic is an all natural approach to health and wellbeing.
It looks to the spine and nervous system for areas of subluxation (misalignment or miscommunication) that affect the brain and body connection resulting in abnormal function. A subluxation in the body can effect how well the messages are running from the brain to the body and body to the brain. As Chiropractors we adjust the spine and nervous system to facilitate healing and allow your body to function well. We often see people obtain relief from pain, fatigue, stress, anxiety and other symptoms that are holding them back in life!
Our philosophy of Chiropractic treatment is rooted in the belief that the body is a complex, holistic system which requires all muscles, joints and nerves to work cohesively in order to ensure the overall health of a person.
The role of Chiropractors is to restore and enhance spinal function and alignment in order to promote the body’s natural abilities to self regulate and self heal.
Chiropractors create long term solutions to ongoing pain or discomfort within the body, as well as emotional stress and tension. It is our role to investigate and address the root cause of presenting symptoms to ensure nobody feels their only option is to live with their symptoms.
The Philosophy of Chiropractic Care Considers
-
It coordinates all your body’s functions and movements; it adapts to stress and operates how you think, feel and express emotion. When functioning optimally, your nervous system keeps you alive and healthy.
-
The spine encases the spinal cord. Tension, misalignments or altered movements cause restriction along the spine, having the potential to impact the functionality of your body and its organs.
The structure of the spine allows it to naturally absorb enormous amounts of stress, whether it be physical, emotional or chemical, and tension. When one joint or region becomes tense or restricted, other parts of your spine that are moving well simply move more to compensate.
Our spines and nervous systems can be adversely affected from the very beginning of life, or at any time through our growing or mature lives. Over time, the many stresses we experience in life can compound and additional tensions can build up. A person’s posture can be altered, and their nervous system and bodily functions can be negatively affected.
Spinal pain or other obvious symptoms may appear if your spine is unable to absorb or compensate any more stress and tension. It may be felt in the form of pain, stiffness, muscle tension, breathing problems, sleeping problems, fatigue or headaches. The effects have even been shown to change brain function.
OUR TECHNIQUES
Our clinicians use various techniques to help the nervous system regulate. The Adjustments we give are gentle, safe and effective. The hand held Activator is a precise instrument used to correct the function of the spinal and peripheral joints, thereby affecting nerve and brain function.
Our techniques also include SOT (Sacro-Occipital Technique), Functional Neuroscience, Paediatric specific assessments and procedures, and sports performance assessment and correction.
